Hi, I’m Emma, founder
of Elite Equine Care

With over 30 years of experience across the equestrian, rehabilitation and veterinary sectors, I have built a career centred around professionalism, knowledge and compassionate care. My background includes 12 years within the veterinary industry, including eight years as Practice Manager for an Equine Clinic and two small animal practices.

In 2022, I founded Elite Equine Care, providing bespoke equine care, rehabilitation support, and house, yard and smallholding sitting services for private, commercial and VIP clients. Services include all aspects of equine husbandry, grooming, veterinary care, exercise management and liaison with paraprofessionals, tailored to suit each client’s individual needs.

I am a Registered Member and Certified Freelancer of the British Grooms Association (BGA) and regularly contribute to industry press, social media and Dr David Marlin’s Animalweb as a panel expert.

In 2025, I was proud to be named Runner-Up for Small Business of the Year at the West Country Women Awards. I am also honoured to join the judging panel for the 2026 Equestrian Business Awards, judging Groom of the Year, an award I was fortunate to win myself in 2023.

MY SERVICES

Offering the highest levels of care to all the horses and animals I work with, whether they are elite competition horses or retired golden oldies.

Professional Grooming & Horse Husbandry

With over 30-plus years of qualified experience, I offer unique and exceptionally high standards of professional grooming and horse husbandry. In 2023 I was humbled to have been awarded the title “Groom of the Year” from the Equestrian Business Awards, after being nominated by my clients, and judged by industry peers.

House sitting & holiday packages

I offer house sitting and holiday packages that are specifically tailored to you. Allowing you to go away, knowing that your beloved horses and animals can remain at home in their normal routine and environment. These packages are available as emergency cover, or from a night to a couple of weeks or more.

Wellbeing Support Packages

I offer one off and emergency cover as well as on-going regular daily/weekly/monthly packages. I also offer assistance with veterinary visits, bandage/dressing changes and treatments, farrier, BAEDT & registered equine dental technician visits, rehabilitation and physiotherapy appointments if you are unable to attend. I also offer a support package for euthanasia if you would like help with any part of this process.

Events

I have been fortunate enough to attend a number of regional and global equestrian events, offering my experience in stable and yard management, Forge Manager and overseeing Cooling and Thermoregulation as required. These have included the London, Rio and Tokyo Olympics, as well as two World Equestrian Games, 5* Eventing and European Championships.

Webinars, Media and Expert Work

Alongside my hands-on work, I’m passionate about sharing practical equine care knowledge with horse owners. I regularly deliver webinars, provide advice through social media, write for equestrian publications, and host the Ask the Experts series with Horse & Rider Magazine. I also contribute as an industry expert with AnimalWeb and have been featured by Horse & Hound. Supporting and educating the wider equestrian community is something I genuinely enjoy.

My Values & Beliefs

I relish the challenges and variety that come with my international competition work, but equally passionate about my day to day freelance groom work too. I am proud to still be working hands on in the equestrian industry and having the British Grooms Association as my professional body is essential in this day and age. I see my role as a groom to support my clients and other fellow grooms, to help educate, mentor, encourage and inspire. Above all else I want to be a leading light in equine welfare and ensure the horse’s best interest is at the heart of everything I do.
